Delete your account
Last updated: May 29, 2026
You can request deletion of your Hewer account and the personal data associated with it at any time. This page explains how to submit the request and what happens after we receive it.
How to request deletion
To delete your login, email privacy@hewer.app from your account email. Deleting your login doesn't delete the job, invoice and payment records you're part of; those belong to the company that runs the account, and it decides how long to keep them.
Request account deletionWhat happens when your login is deleted
Removed or deleted
- Your email address and home address are removed. Your name is replaced with "Deleted user" and a short code, and your phone number is replaced with a placeholder that doesn't work.
- Your sign-in sessions, security codes, two-step verification and the sign-in history tied to your account are deleted. Your login is switched off and can't be used again. A few older sign-in records stored only under your phone number aren't removed.
- Your driver's license, birthday, profile photo, bio and linked messaging-account IDs are removed.
- Clock-in locations, mileage addresses and notes on your time entries are removed.
- Your push-notification tokens, emergency contacts, saved dashboard layout and app usage history are deleted.
- The last four digits of any company card assigned to you are removed from your profile. This doesn't cancel the card; the company that issued it does that.
What stays with the company, and why
Your login is part of a company's Hewer account. The work records you're part of are that company's business records, so they stay with the company after your login is deleted, and it decides how long to keep them.
- Hours, jobs and clock-in and clock-out times stay linked to your account record, so the company's payroll still adds up.
- Invoices, payments and receipts you logged stay as they are. Documents that were already issued aren't changed.
- Job photos you uploaded stay on the job. Your name is removed as the uploader.
- Meeting recordings and transcripts stay with the job, and your name is removed from "recorded by". To ask for recordings to be deleted, contact the company that runs the account.
- Call recordings and text and call records stay with the company in full, including message content and phone numbers.
- Your role, pay rate and settings such as language stay on your account record.
Before a company closes its Hewer account, ask us and we'll export its data. After it closes, we delete its data within 90 days.
Facebook and Instagram data
A company can connect its Facebook Page and Instagram account to Hewer. Hewer then receives the Page's and account's messages, the answers people give on the company's lead ad forms, its Facebook recommendations and its ad spend, and posts the videos the company approves.
- To stop it, an admin presses Disconnect under Settings → Integrations → Facebook and Instagram. Hewer deletes the stored Facebook and Instagram access tokens and stops receiving anything new. Removing Hewer under Business Integrations in your Facebook settings does the same.
- Messages, leads and reviews already received stay in the company's account as its business records until the company deletes them or closes its account, as described above.
- If you messaged a business or filled in its lead form and want that data deleted, ask that business, or email privacy@hewer.app and we will pass the request on and confirm when it is done.
Partial data deletion
Hewer does not currently offer self-serve partial data deletion (deleting some data while keeping your account active). If you need to remove a specific item — a photo, a comment, a stored file — open it in the app and use the delete control on that item, or email privacy@hewer.app for anything that doesn't have an in-app delete option.
