What people worry about

Switching is a pain. Here’s what actually happens.

“I’ll lose my client list.”

Your clients come over from the spreadsheet (CSV) your old system exports. They are matched by phone number, so the same person is never added twice.

“I’ll be starting from an empty screen.”

Jobs come over too, each tied to its client and keeping the job number from your old system, so the history is there on day one.

“The price keeps creeping up with add-ons.”

Hewer is one plan with a public price and no feature tiers. The only thing that moves the bill is how many people log in.

“Getting out will be a fight.”

Month-to-month, cancel any time. Your clients and jobs can be downloaded as spreadsheets from Settings whenever you want them.

How it works

Four steps, in your own account.

Hewer doesn’t have a Housecall Pro-specific reader. Instead, any CSV goes through a column matcher: Hewer proposes what each column means and you confirm it.

  1. Export from Housecall Pro

Export your customers, jobs and payments from Housecall Pro as CSV files, one file per list.

  2. Drop the files into Hewer

In Hewer, an admin opens Settings → Data import and drops in all the files at once. Import clients first, then jobs, then everything else, because payments and timesheets look for the jobs they belong to.

  3. Check the matches

Housecall Pro files aren’t recognized automatically, so each one opens a short screen: Hewer suggests which of your columns is the name, the phone, the job number and so on, with a real value from your file under each one. Fix anything it got wrong and confirm. Put “Housecall Pro” in the “Coming from” box, so a later re-import updates those records instead of copying them.

  4. Done

That’s it. Running the same file again is safe: clients already in Hewer are skipped or have only their blank fields filled in, and anything you edited in Hewer stays as you left it.

CSV files, up to 8 MB each. A file going through the column matcher can hold up to 20,000 rows; split bigger exports into parts.

Importing is self-serve: you upload the file your old system exports and check the matches, and you can run it again whenever you like.

What comes over

Clients
Name (company or person), phone, email, street address, city and ZIP. Rows without a usable phone number are skipped, because phone is how clients are matched.
Jobs
Job number, client, title, total price, status, job type, created and scheduled dates, address and assigned crew. Crew names that don’t match someone on your team are left off, not created.
Payments
Payment number, the job it was against, amount, date and how they paid. Each payment is matched to the job you imported from the same system.

What doesn’t

  • Estimates and timesheets
  • Photos and file attachments
  • Text message and call history
  • Signed contracts, invoices and other PDFs
  • Line items on a job (a job comes over with its total price)

Keep your old account until you’ve checked everything you need is in Hewer.

What it costs

One plan, priced by team size.

  • $249 a month covers your first 5 seats. Seats 6 to 15 are $49 each, and every seat after that is $35.
  • No feature tiers: every company is on the same plan. The one optional extra is an AI phone assistant, listed on the pricing page.
  • Month-to-month. Cancel any time.
  • 30-day trial. No card needed to start, and nothing is charged unless you add one.

The full feature list is on the pricing page.
